Time Running Out to Register to Vote in April Consolidated Election

Tuesday, March 8 is last day to register as a voter for upcoming election.

Tuesday, March 8 is the last day to register to vote with local deputy registrars for the Tuesday, April 5, Consolidated Election, according to Lake County Clerk Willard Helander.

Β "Residents who are new to Lake County, moved to a new address in Lake County, turn 18 on or before Election Day or have changed one's name need to register by Tuesday, March 8," said Helander.

New registrants must be U.S. citizens, 18 years old on or before the election, residents of their precinct for 30 days immediately prior to Election Day, and must provide two forms of identification.

Registration is available at the County Clerk's office and at most municipal, township and library facilities. In addition, there are more than 1,200 trained deputy registrars available throughout the county in every local community.

The County Clerk's office, 18 N. County St., Room 101, Waukegan, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Fridays.
