Store Closing Lemont Location After 18 Years

LEMONT, IL — After 18 years in downtown Lemont, 1 Happy Girl will be closing its doors, the business shared on its Facebook page.

"Over the years, our little store grew into multiple locations, and our family grew too—with babies, new adventures, and new dreams. Through every season of life, this store and this community have been there with us. So many of you have watched us grow up, and we’ve had the privilege of watching your families grow right alongside ours," the boutique said on its Facebook. "Today, with a mix of gratitude, sadness, and excitement, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our Lemont location and move everything to our New Lenox store."

1 Happy Girl is holding a Goodbye Lemont Sale from June 10 to June 20. Items will be up to 70 percent off. Store hours will be 1 to 7 p.m. on June 10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 11 and June 12, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 13, 1 to 7 p.m. on June 17, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 18 and June 19, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 20.

"Making this decision has not been easy. The reality is that the cost of operating in this space has changed dramatically over the last few years, and as we look toward the future, we have to make decisions that allow us to continue growing in a sustainable way. Ongoing challenges, including extended street closures that impact accessibility and traffic throughout much of the summer, have also played a role in this difficult decision," the business said on its Facebook.

1 Happy Girl also has a New Lenox location, which will remain open.
