11 Lemont Bears Wrestlers Headed To State Tournament
This is one of the largest groups of Bears ever to qualify for a trip to the state tournament.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Bears Wrestling team competed in a Sectional Tournament at Mt. Carmel High School this past weekend, and placed third as a team overall and advanced a large group to the individual state tournament on March 9-10.
The team said it will send 11 wrestlers to the IKWF State wrestling tournament in Rockford. This is one of the largest groups of Bears ever to qualify for a trip to Rockford. Last year, the Bears sent a record 15 wrestlers to the State Tournament.
According to the team, the Bears will be led this weekend by returning state qualifiers Carter Mikolajczak (62 lb Novice), Jackson Smith (79 lb Novice), Sam Schuit (84 lb Novice), Evan Schiffman (89 lb Senior), Jake Zator (101 lb Senior), Cole Brannigan (130 lb Senior), Alex Tagler (147 lb Senior), Tyler Wilms (166 lb Senior) and Wojtek Chrobak (177 lb Novice). Making their first trip to Rockford are Cory Zator (62 lb Novice) and Alex Pasquale (156 lb Novice).

The team will compete at the BMO Harris Center against the best youth wrestlers in the state of Illinois.
The IKWF State Tournament consists of 35 different weight classes in 2 divisions and nearly 900
wrestlers.
