Winter Weather Advisory Extended: More Snow For Illinois
Snow is expected on Sunday and will continue into Monday early afternoon.

Snow will begin Sunday evening and continue on Monday, and will bring 4-6 inches of snow. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Kane, DeKalb, Lake, Cook, DuPage, Kendall, Grundy, Will, Kankakee and La Salle counties. The advisory went into effect at 6 p.m. Sunday and was originally set to expire at noon Monday. On Monday morning, the National Weather Service extended the advisory until 3 p.m.
According to the advisory, 3 to 5 inches of snow was expected for most of the area, including during the evening commute on Monday.
Drivers were warned to expect "patchy blowing snow expected in open and rural areas" plus low visibility and to "plan on slippery road conditions (and) additional snow accumulations of up to one inch are possible through mid afternoon in northeast Illinois, with less than one inch expected elsewhere."

According to the NWS, temperatures will remain in the 20s on Sunday, and the high for Monday will be about 22 degrees.

South southeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
- MONDAY NIGHT: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 2. Wind chill values as low as -14. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
- TUESDAY: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 18. Northwest wind around 10 mph.
- TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 3.
- WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 18.
- WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 10.
- THURSDAY: Sunny, with a high near 31.
- THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 22.
- FRIDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38.
- FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.
