Thanksgiving Weather: Snow, 45 MPH Gusts, Rain Possible In IL

A storm system, with rain and possibly snow, will move into the area Tuesday and continue into Wednesday morning.

ILLINOIS — A storm system is expected to bring rain and wind to the area right before Thanksgiving. The National Weather Service said rain will spread across the area Tuesday and into Tuesday night, with gusts up to 45 mph possible Wednesday.

The storm system is expected to be mainly rain, although some snow could mix in Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Before the storm system moves in, Monday should be cloudy with a high of 52 degrees. Temps on Tuesday will be similar, with a high of 52 again, before rain moves in Tuesday afternoon, the weather service said.

Rain/snow will end Wednesday morning, and the high for Wednesday will be 44 degrees.

If you're planning on traveling Thanksgiving day, the roads should be good. According to the weather service, no rain or snow is expected, and temps will be near 40 degrees.

There is a chance of rain and snow to close out the week Friday, and temps will be near 41 degrees.
