Add a link to the largest and greatest paper chain ever created.

From these pictures you can see that I have a love of creating paper chains. There are few things created that are so simple, yet powerful in meaning. Hope and Friendship has offered the opportunity often to create and deliver paper chains created with links decorated with words of encouragement and support offered from our community to communities who have suffered tornadoes, floods, and to friends who were spending much time in a hospital; all who needed to visually see that they were in the thoughts of friends they may never meet or know, but who took the time to provide them a "heart and spirit lift".

This Saturday July 14th at Lemont's Heritage Fest, Hope and Friendship Foundation will have all of the supplies to create the largest and greatest paper chain ever created. There is no cost to participate in this!

All are invited to stop by the Hope and Friendship table and choose a link, write a note of encouragement on it, then connect it to hopefully hundreds and hundreds of other links. We will capture pictures of a paper chain filled with links of encouragement that stretches out for many feet and one that will touch many hearts of friends struggling through a tough chapter of life here in our corner of the world. My hope is that the paper chain can stretch through the downtown during our Heritage Fest celebration, then reach into many homes, and hearts, throughout our community!

After we take pictures and show off the link to those who created it, we will break it down into sections, then deliver sections of it (with a picture of the whole chain) to those within our own community who are struggling (battling cancer, home bound, loss of loved one) showing them support and compassion from those who cared to take the time to offer them this "heart and spirit lift".

This will cost you nothing to participate but a bit of time. I truly hope you will stop by the Hope and Friendship Foundation table on Saturday and offer a link to our chain of compassion for many, right here right now. Ripples will be made with a simple, yet beautiful, paper link chain.
