LEMONT, IL — A hot and humid weather pattern will settle in this week for Lemont, and high temperatures in the 90s are expected.
While there aren't any heat advisories or warnings in effect currently, there are several locations in Lemont that operate as cooling centers if residents are in need.

As a reminder, it's always best to call ahead and check with the location that it's operating as a cooling center.
The Village of Lemont also sent a notification to residents that trash collection will start earlier at 5 a.m. this week due to the heat.
The National Weather Service reminds residents to know the symptoms of heat exhaustion: dizziness, thirst, heavy sweating, nausea, weakness.
Residents should move to a cooler area if they experience symptoms, loosen clothing, sip cool water and seek medical help if symptoms don't improve.
Heat exhaustion can lead to heat stroke, which can cause death or permanent injury if not treated.
Symptoms of more severe heat stroke include confusion, dizziness and loss of consciousness. If anyone experiences those symptoms, residents should act fast by calling 911, moving them to a cooler area, loosening clothing and applying ice or giving sips of water.
