LEMONT, IL — As July winds to a close, the first day of school for Lemont High School students is just a few weeks away. LHS students will head back to the classroom on Aug. 12, and the 2026-27 school year will wrap up on May 21, 2027.
If you like to plan ahead, here is a look at the important dates this upcoming school year:
- Aug. 11, first day of school for freshmen/transfer students only
- Aug. 12, first day of school for all students
- Sept. 4, early release
- Sept. 7, Labor Day, no school
- Sept. 29, early release at 11:15 a.m.
- Oc.t 7, student testing, no attendance for seniors
- Nov. 3, Election Day, no school
- Nov. 17, early release at 11:15 a.m.
- Nov. 23-27, Thanksgiving break, no school
- Nov. 30, classes resume
- Dec. 17, early release
- Dec. 18, early release, end of first semester, winter break begins
- Jan. 4, teacher institute, no school
- Jan. 5, classes resume
- Jan. 18, Martin Luther King's birthday, no school
- Jan. 26, early release at 11:15 a.m.
- Feb. 12, early release
- Feb. 15, Presidents Day, no school
- March 23, early release at 11:15 a.m.
- March 26, no school
- April 2, early release at 1 p.m., spring break begins
- April 12, classes resume from spring break
- April 13, student testing, no senior attendance
- April 26, teacher institute day, no school
- May 13, last day of school for seniors
- May 14, graduation
- May 20, early release
- May 21, early release, and tentative last day of school for freshmen, sophomores and juniors
