Lemont Village Hall Remains Closed After Monday's Severe Weather

LEMONT, IL — After severe storms on Monday, the Lemont Village Hall will remain closed on Tuesday for repairs and cleaning, the Village shared.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," the Village said. The Drop box located in the vestibule at 416 Main Street will still be open for water bill payments.

Over 1,000 customers still have no power in the Lemont area, with 926 affected in Lemont and 759 affected in Lemont Township.

The Village said that residents can bring downed limbs and branches to the curb by 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 4. Public works crews will take the branches at the curb; per Village policy, the department will not go on private property to remove limbs or branches.

The National Weather Service has not yet confirmed any tornadoes with Monday's storms but said it would be visiting DuPage and southern Cook counties on Tuesday to assess damage.

Lemont Township shared that its community center is open as a designated cooling center. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, and residents can come to cool off, charge your phone or laptop, or relax. There is also fresh drinking water and restrooms available.
