Oil Paining Demonstration

On September 9, 2026, in partnership with the Homer Township Public Library, the Lemont Artists Guild is pleased to present, at the library, experienced Fine Artist, Beth Leahy, who will do an oil painting demonstration of a still life subject and talk about several aspects of working with oil paint. She will discuss using a limited palette, working general to specific, edges/outlines, background, final tweaking of the subject and touch on color mixing. Beth has been creating art since childhood. Her art education includes private lessons, workshops with contemporary artists, the Art Institute of Chicago, The American Academy of Art, The School of Representational Art, and Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. She has been teaching art to adults since 1998 and has done many workshops in the Chicagoland area. She currently teaches at McCord Cultural Center and Gallery in Palos Park, IL.
