LEMONT, IL — Lemont High School sophomore Sarah Scott repeated as an all-state performer at the 2026 IHSA Class 2A Girls' Golf State Finals, which were contested on Oct. 9-10 at Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur, the school shared.
Scott tied for eighth in the individual standings after shooting a +2 146 over 36 holes, and was the top sophomore finisher at the event.
Scott never dropped out of the top ten throughout the state finals, the school said. She finished the first round with an even-par 72, tying for seventh to move on to the second day of competition. She posted a +2 74 over the final 18 holes.
Scott holds the four best rounds ever for a Lemont girls' golfer in state finals play, the school said. In addition to her rounds of 72 and 74 this year, she posted scores of 70 and 75 at the 2025 IHSA Class 2A State Finals.
Scott became the third two-time state qualifier from head coach Bill Mondrella's program when she placed fourth individually with a -1 71 at the IHSA Sandburg Sectional at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, securing her second state finals berth in as many years, according to LHS. She was the second finisher among golfers whose teams did not advance to the state finals.
