LEMONT, IL — Lemont-Bromberek District 113A will hold its final community referendum info session on Thursday at 7 p.m. via Zoom, ahead of the General Election on Nov. 3.
Superintendent Dr. Courtney Orzel and District leaders will discuss the referendum during the Zoom meeting.
The District has held several community meetings, both in-person and virtual, in the weeks leading up to the General Election. The District is asking taxpayers for an increase to the District's tax limiting rate, in order to address record enrollment growth.
The referendum would fund expansions for all four of the District's schools.
The question on the ballot is:
"Shall the limiting rate under the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law for Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District Number 113A, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois, be increased by an additional amount equal to 0.360000% above the limiting rate for levy year 2024 for the purpose of providing educational programming and instruction and operating, maintaining, improving and constructing school buildings and facilities and for other school purposes, and be equal to 2.320037% of the equalized assessed value of the taxable property therein for levy year 2026?"
