Another Round Of Storms Wednesday For Illinois
Hail and winds are possible with these storms, but tornado risk is limited.

ILLINOIS — Wednesday afternoon and evening will see another round of thunderstorms hit Illinois. According to the National Weather Service, there is a significant thunderstorm risk Wednesday with a hail risk (up to half dollar size) and a wind damage risk (up to 70 mph).
The area got hit with scattered thunderstorms Wednesday morning, and another round are forecast to develop between 2 and 5 p.m. over northern Illinois. According to the NWS, these storms will likely increase in coverage and intensity as they move east into northwest Indiana toward evening.

The NWS said some of these storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds. A small threat of a tornado does exist over northwest Indiana and south of I-80.
