Apartment Fire On State Street, No One Injured: Police

LEMONT, IL — No one was injured after a fire in an apartment building in the 900 block of State Street in Lemont, police said.

The road was blocked off temporarily as police and fire responded, police said.

The fire district said there was a small kitchen fire caused by cooking. The resident put the fire out with a home fire extinguisher, before firefighters arrived, according to the district.

The fire district checked for any more fire and ventilated the building, the fire district said.
