Archbishop Cupich to Lead Mass at Ss. Cyril and Methodius

The Archbishop's appearance will help usher in Catholic Schools Week.

As the kickoff of Catholic School Week, Archbishop Blasé Cupich will hold Mass at SS. Cyril and Methodius on Jan. 31.

Cupich will be the main celebrant for the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Jan. 31. He will join SS. Cyril and Methodius Pastor, Rev. Waldemar “Valdi” Stawiarski, in commencing the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. This year’s theme for National Catholic Schools Week, which runs from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6, is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.”

Immediately following Mass, members of the church community, along with interested families are invited to an Open House at SS. Cyril and Methodius School (SSCM), with tours beginning at 12:30p.m. This offers an opportunity for parents exploring Catholic education opportunities for their children ages preschool through 8th grade, a chance to meet staff, as well as receive guided tours. Light refreshments will be served along with a Scholastic book fair and an extensive display of extracurricular activities the school offers. Registration for the 2016-17 school year will be available.
