Art Contest, Masquerade Ball Hosted By Lemont Historical Society
The ball will serve as a fundraiser for the historical society and will feature a wandering magician and psychic readings.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Area Historical Society will hold a Masquerade Ball on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. The ball will serve as a fundraiser for the historical society and will feature special guest Svengoolie, a wandering magician and psychic readings.
The society is also holding an Art Contest, and the winning piece will be auctioned at the ball and the artist will be featured in promotions. Submissions are due by July 15 and there is a "Magic and Mystery" theme.
Art entries can be submitted to the historical society and the winner will be selected by the event committee and notified by Aug. 1. The winner gets a $100 prize or two tickets to the ball.

According to the society, there will also be an open bar, food, live music, silent auction and a split the pot raffle. It is $75 per person and the event will be held at the Slovenian Center, 14252 Main St., in Lemont.
