Attempted Burglars Cut Hole In Roof Of Lemont Business: Cops

Police said they arrived on scene to see two men wearing black masks running on the roof of the businesses.

LEMONT, IL — Two men from Lithuania have been charged after police said they cut a hole into the roof of a Lemont business in an attempt to burglarize it. Lemont Police Commander Thad Mezyk said officers responded to the 14100 block of McCarthy Road in the Derby Road plaza at 11:30 p.m. Sunday after a report of a suspicious noise.

When officers arrived, police said they saw two men wearing black masks running on the roof of the plaza buildings. Denis Daunoras, 26, and Algirdas Glinskis, 41, were taken into custody and taken to the Lemont Police Department.

Officers also found burglary tools at the scene, police said. A section of the roof had been cut open to gain entry into the building.
