Attempted Car Burglary Reported In Kettering Estates: Lemont PD

LEMONT, IL — A man with a handgun attempted to steal a vehicle from an open garage in Kettering Estates on Monday, police said.

Police received a report of the in-progress burglary at 3:15 p.m. Monday, after a neighbor witnessed the event and called police, Lemont Police said.

The man was unable to steal the vehicle and fled in a gray Dodge Durango, which was occupied by three men wearing ski masks and gloves, according to police.

Police reminded residents to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity by calling 911; and to keep your doors locked and garage closed no matter the time of day.
