Bank Robbery At Jewel In Lemont: Police Release Photos
Police say the man robbed the bank and fled southeast. A dye pack in the cash blew up.

LEMONT, IL — A man is on the loose after a bank robbery at the TCF Bank inside the Jewel in Lemont, according to police. The robbery happened around 10 a.m. Thursday.
Lemont Chief of Police Marc Maton told Patch there was no handgun displayed during the robbery. The suspect, a Hispanic male, drove away southeast in a silver vehicle, police say, which appears to be an Oldsmobile Alero.
Police released surveillance photos of the robber Thursday afternoon.

Maton said the robber was running when the dye pack in the cash activated, and believes he may have taken his long-sleeve gray T-shirt off. The robber was also wearing blue jeans and a Miller Lite baseball cap.

The FBI and the Cook County Sheriff's Department are assisting in the investigation.
