'Barnum' Production Comes To Lemont
Performances will take place July 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and July 15 at 2 p.m. at Lemont High School's Performing Arts Center.

LEMONT, IL —Little Mountain Community Theatre is bringing the circus to Lemont this summer with its production of “Barnum: A Circus Musical,” which will be complete with clowns, acrobats, unicyclers and other talented performers.
According to the theatre, performances will take place July 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and July 15 at 2 p.m. at Lemont High School’s Performing Arts Center, 800 Porter St. Tickets are on sale now and cost $17 for adults and $14 for seniors and students.
“Audiences will enjoy an evening of toe-tapping music as we tell a heartfelt story with characters who are
rooted in a time in American history that was all about change,” Heather Hutchison, artistic director, said in a release. “It is a family-friendly show that moves quickly through the life of P.T. Barnum with many wonderful moments throughout. We’ve created an exciting and colorful spectacle that will delight all ages.”

“Barnum” follows the life of Phineas Taylor Barnum, who attempts to assemble a circus show filled with
performers considered to be outcasts of society. The theatre said it is a story about family, the struggle and beauty of being different, and how one man rose to become the greatest showman the world has ever known.
LMCT, based in Lemont, educates individuals of all ages and abilities, entertains audiences and enriches
Lemont and the surrounding communities with the presence of live theatre. The group, founded in 2013 by local theatre enthusiasts, is celebrating its fifth season in 2018.
