Blood Drive Planned At Lemont Township

LEMONT, IL — If you're looking for a way to give back during these difficult times, Thrivent Financial is holding a community blood drive May 19 in Lemont. The blood drive will be held at the Lemont Township Community Center, 16300 Alba St., from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

You can schedule an appointment online. Appointments are preferred, and a photo ID is required.

Donations will go to Versiti Blood Center of Illinois.

According to Versiti's website, all staff members at the blood drive are required to wear a face mask. It is safe to donate blood, even with the current coronavirus pandemic.

"The donation process itself poses no risk of infecting a donor with coronavirus," the website states.
