60 Degrees, Blustery Start To The Week: Illinois Weather

ILLINOIS — Temperatures will continue to be unseasonably mild before dropping down into the 20s by mid-week. With the warmer temps on Monday and Tuesday comes some high winds, and winds will be 35-40 mph on Monday and 40+ mph gusts on Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, temps could get up to 60 degrees on Monday and Tuesday has an expected high of 46.

Rain will also begin Sunday evening and continue into Monday, the NWS said. Rain amounts between a quarter of an inch to a half of an inch are possible. Tuesday will be dry, but very windy, and temps will start to drop on Tuesday night.

Wednesday will be much colder, and has a high of 25 degrees. The rest of the week will be much of the same, with Thursday at 30 degrees and Friday at 35 degrees, according to the NWS.

• MONDAY: Rain before noon, then showers likely after noon. High near 57. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 20 to 25 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
• MONDAY NIGHT: Cloudy during the early evening, then becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
• TUESDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.
• TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Blustery.
• WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 25.
• WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 17.
• THURSDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 30.
• THURSDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
• FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 35.
• FRIDAY NIGHT: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.
