Mean Green Smoothie

Mean Green Smoothie, a really yummy smoothie that is healthy for you and really , really good

Hello my name is Aletha and I am a Diabetic trying to get healthy.  


Today I made a smooth for Breakfast and when I came across this recipe I said to my self YUK it sounds horrible but I made it anyway and I have to take that back it is really good.  It is a Vegetarian/Vegan recipe do not let that scare you from not trying this drink it is really good.

EVEN IF YOU don’t like kale,( I love Kale so I had no problem with it) you won’t notice it in this drink. This delicious, plant-based smoothie is an excellent way to add more greens to your diet. 
SERVES 1

1 cup unsweetened almond milk, or water ( I used almond milk)

1 cup frozen berries ( the berries I used this time were strawberry's)

1 frozen banana, peeled 

2 cups kale, ribs removed, coarsely chopped 

½ cup pitted and coarsely chopped Medjool dates 


Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and creamy.

Note> I always have banana's in my freezer , when they start to turn I thought them in the freezer.  When I need one for a breakfast smooth I can take one out and cut a line down the center throw in the microwave for 20 seconds and take it out and peel and cut up and use in a drink.Kale is in season right now and it is also very healthy for you.  I do grow it in my garden in the spring and Thur the season.
This may not look that good but it is good.
