Winter Weather Takes Toll on Home Landscaping
As the spring season settles in, homeowners face the arduous task of planting new flowers, fertilizing the grass and cleaning out a winter's worth of junk.

Have you seriously contemplated how much outside work your house and garden has to have after such a long and arduous winter? I mean, half of my back yard washed away due to the excessive snow fall this year. Living on a hill, in an older neighbor has its perks. But a hard winter is not one of them.
We live next door to the garden club president and two doors away from a guy who has a beautiful heated coy pond, waterfalls, bridges, and a stunning wrought iron fence. Me, on the other hand? I bought a house from a guy who loved to garden. And now I feel obligated to keep it up. Sure, I have the summers off. So, what the heck do I have to do anyways, right?
But seriously, I have started staining my deck, repairing my own pond, planting new grass seed, fertilizing my grass, cleaning out the garage, and all of this — and it still needs a ton of work. And I know myself. By the end of June I'll be bored with it. Let the summer heat scorch the heck out of my new grass, and then? I'll pray for fall, so that the leaves can cover up my yellowing grass...

It's a vicious circle of life. Just so that you don't think I'm telling tales, I'll post a lovely picture of my yard in the weeks to come. By the way, this blog will not be about gardening — yawn! But today that is what I felt like writing about.
