Storms, Plus A Windy Week Ahead For Illinois

The upcoming week will mostly be warm and breezy, with winds gusting up to 30 mph on Monday. According to the National Weather Service, Monday has a high of 78 degrees and rain and thunderstorms could roll into the area late Monday night.

Tuesday also brings a chance of thunderstorms, and it will be breezy again with winds gusting up to 15 mph. The high for Tuesday is 79. It should be clear and sunny on Wednesday with a high of 77. However, the NWS said a chance of storms returns late Wednesday night.

Thursday will be the warmest day of the week so far with a high of 82. The chance of rain and storms will stick around, and there's a slight chance both Thursday and Thursday night, according to the NWS. Friday has a high of 79 and again, there is a chance of storms on Friday night.

• MONDAY: Sunny, with a high near 78. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
