Chance Of Snow, Milder Temps In Store For IL: Weekend Weather

While there is a chance of snow Sunday, it will be a light, non-accumulating snow.

ILLINOIS — After several days of below average temperatures, Illinoisans will get a little bit of a break this weekend. Temps will be in the upper 30s to 40 degrees, and accumulating snow is not expected, according to the National Weather Service.

The high for Saturday is 38 degrees, and it should be mostly cloudy, but dry all day. The weather service said the high for Sunday is 40 degrees, and while there is a chance of snow, it will be a light, non-accumulating snow. A snow/rain mix is also expected Sunday.

  • FRIDAY NIGHT: Increasing clouds, with a low around 26. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming east after midnight.
  • SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Southeast wind around 5 mph.
  • SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Southeast wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 10 mph.
  • SUNDAY: A slight chance of snow showers before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of rain and snow showers between 11 a.m. and noon, then a chance of rain showers after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 37. South wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
  • SUNDAY NIGHT: A chance of rain showers, possibly mixing with snow after 9 p.m., then gradually ending. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
