Chialdikas Outlines Platform in Run for Lemont Mayor

Paul Chialdikas, a village trustee and mayor pro-tem, is seeking the mayoral office in Lemont.

LEMONT, IL - Lemont Mayor Pro-Tem Paul Chialdikas is seeking the mayoral office in the village and has outlined his platform for the community.

His campaign is "dedicated to bringing more people to the village of Lemont and increasing commerce through sales and consumption," according to a news release announcing his candidacy for the April 4 election.

Chialdikas highlighted his opposition to the Cook County Forest Preserve’s involvement in annexation disputes.

“I will work hard to preserve Lemont’s ability to grow and I will fight potential land grabs by other jurisdictions,” Chialdikas said.

He said other areas of concentration include "financial stability, economic and work force development, building more quality infrastructure and cooperating with other jurisdictions on the public’s behalf."

“The residents of Lemont deserve an experienced public servant with a proven record of success as your next mayor. I am the candidate to keep moving Lemont forward,” Chialdikas said.

Chialdikas has been a trustee in Lemont for eight years and was previously a member of the village's Planning and Zoning Commission.

Current Mayor Brian Reaves has announced plans that he will not seek re-election in April.
