CITGO Hosts Heritage Quarry Restoration Event In Lemont

The CITGO Lemont Refinery will hold the restoration event on Saturday, Oct. 21.

LEMONT, IL — CITGO will help to restore the Heritage Quarries Recreation in Lemont. The CITGO Lemont Refinery will hold the restoration event on Saturday, Oct. 21. According to CITGO's website, volunteers will help restore five acres within the quarries by removing invasive species and planting trees.

Volunteers will meet at Lemont High School for the bus to the quarries from 8 to 9 a.m. From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., volunteers will be working, and at 11 a.m., they will be shuttled back to LHS.

The village of Lemont is asking residents to volunteer and sign-up is open now.
