College Credits: Students Earn Degrees, Make Dean's List

Area students are doing amazing things at colleges and universities across the United States.

McKendree University congratulates students on the President's List for achieving a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the fall 2020 semester, including William Doyle of Lockport.

Students Named to Dean's List at UW-Whitewater

Ryan Mitchell from Frankfort, Abi Baumgartner from Mokena, Shannon Brannick from Lockport,and Miles Hagen from New Lenox have made the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean's List for the 2020 fall semester. These students have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a grade point average of 3.4 or above in a single semester.

"I'd like to extend my heartiest congratulations to the students who earned a spot on the Dean's List - a benchmark that reflects a strong record of academic achievement," said interim Provost Greg Cook. "The 2020 fall semester was one unlike any other, as our Warhawks persevered during a pandemic and challenging circumstances. Through hard work and determination - and with the support of our outstanding faculty and staff - these Warhawks excelled and are to be commended."

The Registrar's Office reports 3,921 students were selected for the Dean's List for the fall semester. About 12,000 students are currently enrolled at the university's Whitewater and Rock County campuses.

McDermed Earns Dean's List Recognition

Kyle McDermed, of Frankfort, joined more than 1,000 students across all Central Methodist University campuses who met the requirements for Dean's List, including a grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the semester.

Joshua Carlson Makes the Dean's List at McKendree University

Joshua Carlson, of New Lenox, was named to the fall 2020 semester Dean's List at McKendree University for earning a grade point average of 3.60 or higher.

Students earn spots on the Dean's List at Coastal Carolina University

More than 2,300 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2020 semester, including Caitlin Ferrari, a Psychology major from Frankfort; and Elizabeth Principe, a management major from Lockport.

Riley Murphy named to Dean's List at Palmer College of Chiropractic

Riley Murphy of Frankfort, has been named to the fall 2020 quarter Dean's List at Palmer College of Chiropractic's Florida campus in Port Orange, Florida.

Students Named to Fall 2020 Dean's List at Bradley University

Jordyn Jawor of Mokena and Antonio Giannetta of New Lenox are one of 2,000 students who were named to Bradley University's Fall 2020 Dean's List. Jawor is majoring in Pre-Education and Health Science, and Giannetta is majoring in computer information systems. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.

Students Awarded Degrees from Miami University

Ryan Casey of Frankfort and Kendall Kilhafner of Lemont were among more than 1,000 students from Miami University who received degrees during the virtual fall commencement on Dec. 11. Casey graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering degree, majoring in Software Engineering. Kilhafner graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology & Health degree, majoring in Kinesiology.

Area Students Awarded Degrees from UA

Austin Pearson of Frankfort, has received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Ryan Hastings of New Lenox, received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Christopher Bukowski of Mokena has received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration. Emily Deloian of Mokena has received a Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Sciences.

UA awarded some 2,257 degrees during its fall commencement Dec. 12.
