New Addition Planned At The Lemont Township Community Center

The Lemont Township is proud to announce the groundbreaking of its new addition to the Community Center.

Lemont, IL – The Lemont Township is proud to announce the groundbreaking of its new addition to the Community Center at 16300 Alba Avenue in Lemont. The 2,200 sq ft addition will contain new staff offices, storage rooms and a second meeting room to accompany the existing large event room built in 2010.

The Lemont Township has selected Landmark Construction of Tinley Park, IL as their General Contractor with a target completion date in early fall, 2024. Once complete, the Township will move its daily operations from Warner Avenue to their new home on Alba Avenue. “I am gratified to see that this project is underway. It was first scheduled to be constructed in 2020 but was delayed due to covid. Once completed, it will allow for a more efficient delivery of services, and over the long run, will save taxpayers money”, said Supervisor Mike Shackel.

Since its inception in 1850, the Lemont Township has offered Community/Human Services to those in need, transportation through our PACE Dial-a-Ride and Vanpool Programs, Property Tax Assistance, along with the Maintenance, Repair and Snow Removal of Township roads as well as offering a host of other services to its residents. With this expansion, the Township will be able to better serve the Community in 2025 and beyond.
