Cooler Temps In The 70s Before Warm-Up Begins Mid-Week

ILLINOIS — Coolers temperatures will kick off the month of August, before slowly rising into the 80s by Friday. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Monday is 74 degrees, and there's a chance of showers in the afternoon and evening.

Tuesday will be dry, but still only has a high of 73 degrees. Temperatures will start to creep up on Wednesday, which has a high of 78 degrees, and Thursday has a high of 80.

Friday will be the warmest day of the week, according to the weather service. The high will be 84 degrees, but there is a chance of showers.

Dangerous swim conditions are also expected Monday through Tuesday night at Illinois Lake Michigan beaches. According to the weather service hazardous outlook, waves are expected to "build sharply" on Sunday night, resulting in dangerous conditions at the beaches.
