Cool Mother's Day Weekend With Temps In the 50s, Rain Possible
Temps in the 50s are in the forecast this weekend for the Chicago area, as well as a chance of rain.

The weekend ahead look quite cool, with temps in the 50s on both Saturday and Sunday. Despite the cooler weather, Chicago will have its first 8 p.m. sunset of the year on Friday, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees below normal this weekend, and the high on Saturday is 59, while the high on Sunday is 56, the NWS said. Rain is possible late Saturday night, and after 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Flooding along some rivers in the area will continue on Friday, but the rain on Saturday and Sunday shouldn't impact rivers. It's been a very rainy few weeks and the NWS shared some precipitation totals from April 25 to May 9. Through that time period, O'Hare received 6.88 inches of rain, Aurora received 7.93 inches, Elgin received 7.31 inches and Romeoville received 6.73 inches.
