Cooling Locations In Lemont

During hot weather, keep cool, stay hydrated, and be sure to check on friends and neighbors, especially the elderly and those without AC.

LEMONT, IL — Due to the excessive heat and high temperatures on Sunday and Money, the Lemont Emergency Management Agency is reminding residents of our cooling shelter locations. On Sunday and Monday, residents can go to the Lemont Park District CORE building, 16028 W. 127th St. On Monday, the Lemont Township, 1115 Warner Ave., and Village Hall, 418 Main St., serve as designated cooling centers.

If you need assistance after the regular business hours of the cooling locations, call the Lemont Police Department’s non-emergency number at 630-257-2226.

According to LEMA, during hot weather, keep cool, stay hydrated, and be sure to check on friends and neighbors, especially the elderly and those without air conditioning. If you have a pet, see if a friend or relative will take it in, otherwise, check with the cooling location if they will allow you to bring in a pet. Do not leave any animal unattended in a motor vehicle or enclosed trailer when the outside temperature exceeds 86 degrees, or contain any animal so it does not have proper air circulation while confined in a motor vehicle, trailer, kennel, doghouse or any other type of container or structure in which an animal may be confined.
