D113A Schools Closed Wednesday
Superintendent announces emergency closing for Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Due to inclement weather with a wind chill warning predicted, all District 113A schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 7.
“Making the decision to close district schools is never easy and many variables come into play. We make every effort to remain open, but the safety of our students and staff remains at the forefront of our decision-making processes,” Superintendent Dr. Courtney Orzel wrote in a press release. “As a result, with the anticipated wind chill warning and temperatures predicted to be well-below zero, we have made the decision to close our schools on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. We made this decision as early as possible out of respect to our families so that you have the opportunity to make any child care plans and adjustment to family schedules.”
At this time, staff are continuing to assess the situation for Thursday and will inform parents as soon as possible on Wednesday afternoon or evening regarding a possible school closing decision for Thursday. Please remember that it is always a parent’s decision as to whether or not to send a child to school if they have weather-related concerns when schools are open.
