D113A Superintendent Named To National Superintendents Group
The group is limited to a maximum of 150 active superintendents from some of the nation's most outstanding suburban school districts.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A Superintendent Dr. Courtney Orzel has been elected to the prestigious Suburban School Superintendents organization, along with Lemont High School District 210 Superintendent, Dr. Mary Ticknor. According to a release, the group is limited to a maximum of 150 active superintendents from some of the nation’s most outstanding suburban school districts.
Orzel is currently in her sixth year serving as the SD113A Superintendent. During her tenure, the district has improved its financial profile and bond rating, returned programs, and increased opportunities for students.
In 2019, the district said Orzel was also honored with national recognition from the American Association of School Administrators as one of three superintendent finalists for the Women in Leadership Award.

The purpose of the Suburban School Superintendents is to improve the quality of educational opportunities, programs and services for children, staff and parents in their member districts. The district said this is accomplished by pooling ideas and information from its membership, both through regular meetings and through informal contacts throughout the school year.
According to a release, superintendents who are nominated and ultimately elected to the Suburban School Superintendents organization are held in high regard as school district leaders, both regionally and nationally.
