Disney's 'High School Musical' Comes to LHS

Disney's "High School Musical" will run at LHS from Thursday, May 11 through Saturday, May 13.

LEMONT, IL - Disney's "High School Musical" is coming to Lemont High School's Performing Arts Center for nightly performances from Thursday, May 11 through Satruday, May 13.

All performances of the spring musical, which will be produced by Dave Nommensen, will begin at 7 p.m., and tickets are on sale now for each performance. All tickets are $15, and all seats in the Performing Arts Center - including the balcony and main level - are reserved seats.

According to a release from the school, the musical is based on a Disney Channel original movie written by Peter Barsocchini, and debuted during a Disney Theatrical Tour in 2007 and quickly played on stages throughout the world. The musical’s story involves Troy, Gabriella and their classmates at East High School as they deal with issues of first loves, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra-curricular activities.

Disney’s "High School Musical" will be directed by Paula Smith and choreographed by Jeni Donahue, with orchestral direction by Matt Doherty and vocal direction by Stephanie Cesaroni. Matt Davis will head up set design and construction and will serve as the backstage technical supervisor. Designers for the production will include Joelle Beranek (costumes), Bob Kuper (make-up) and Sam Valone (lighting). Richard Sladek will serve as the accompanist, while Megan Idell will serve as the front-of-house manager.
