LEMONT, IL —The SD113A Board of Education has been recognized as one of 24 Boards of Education in Illinois to receive the prestigious Illinois Association of School Board's School Board Governance Recognition Designation. The district said this recognition is designed to acknowledge school boards that have engaged in activities and modeled behaviors that lead to excellence in local school governance in support of quality public education.
"The Board of Education is honored and humbled to receive this reward and could not have achieved this without the support and contribution of our administration, staff, foundation, PTO, and the community," Board of Education President Damon Ascolani said in a release. "We would not be where we are without all these groups contributing and collaborating to drive positive change for our kids."
"I'm proud of the SD113A Board of Education's accomplishment and honored to serve this community," Superintendent Dr. Courtney Orzel said in a release. "Our board is dedicated, driven, focused, and committed to what is best for our students and community, and this honor is a testament to their dedication."
