District 113A Holds Public Hearing on 8 Percent Property Tax Levy Hike
Lemont-Bromberek District 113A board members tentatively approved an 8.09-percent property tax levy hike Nov. 6. Before final approval, a public hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17 at Old Quarry Middle School.

Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education will hold a public hearing on the topic of a proposed 8 percent increase in the property tax levy. The hearing will take place Dec. 17 at 7 p.m., at Old Quarry.
The board signed off on the tentative 2013 property tax levy during a Nov. 6 meeting.
The estimated total amount to be levied tallies $24,542,857—representing an 8.09 percent increase from last year.

The total includes:
- $19,574,000 in corporate and special purposes property taxes. $15.5 million for educational purposes; $2.2 million for operations and maintenance purposes; $1 million for transportation (to name a few)
- $4,968,587 in taxes levied for debt service and public building commission leases.
The public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 17, at Old Quarry Middle School.
