Do you have a young chef in the making?

Do you know a young person who has a desire to whip up the entree they saw on "Chopped"?

Do they have a desire to dabble in the kitchen making creations and wishing there were more tasters present?

Well, we have a venue and a competition created just for them to be held for the 6th year at Lemont Township Community Center on Sunday January 27th beginning at 1pm!

Kid's Cook Off returns and the role of taster and judge is open to everyone!
Each year we've had some truly determined and passionate young chefs who
participated, and each year they seem to "wow" every lucky taster present!

This competition is open for any youth from 5years-18years of age. There is no cost to enter.

Chiefs are to arrive at 1pm with their entry(ies) fully prepared (appetizer/salad, entrée, or dessert).

From 1:30-2:30 judging is open to the public for a $5 donation to the Lemont
Food Pantries. The young chefs will be present with their entry and answer
questions posed to them by the judges. The judges will be given slips to rank
three categories (preparedness, creativity, and taste) and the chef with
the highest average points in each of the three age categories (5-8;
9-13; 14-18) will be announced as this year’s winner.

As the judging slips are being tabulated the kids get to taste each
other’s entries from 2:30-2:45! At 2:45 we will announce the winners in
all of the age and entry categories.
This has been such a fun family event that the kids, all of those who attended
have completely enjoyed AND we raised much needed funds for those
in our community who depend on the Lemont Food Pantries for assistance
in putting food on their tables.
