LEMONT, IL — A supporter of the Lemont Area Historical Society has promised to match funds up to $10,000 to help complete several projects at the historical society. According to the society, Pat Dalmon Knight will match donations, which can then go toward updating the historical society building at 306 Lemont St.
Some projects that need to be completed include: a designated electric line for fire alarm, a fire alarm, a new boiler, new basement doors, a stairwell light, painting of soffit and fascia, sealing off of the bell tower for protection from wind and rain, an emergency exit on the west sight of the building and an outdoor security light for the back of the building.
If those projects get completed, the society also has a wish list of: air conditioning, a bathroom remodel, new carpeting, waterproof basement, new steel front door, new lighting in the foyer and gift show, paint the basement floor, a permanent covering for the mail cart and to digitize the photo archives.
