Driver, to Parents: I Almost Hit Your Kid

The following was submitted as a Letter to the Community of Lemont Patch:

To the Parents of Old Quarry Middle School Students:

If you let your child walk home today, ask which route they took. Ask where they crossed the streets. Ask if they went to Starbucks. Two girls almost got hit by three cars as they crossed between Jewel and the bank by Aldi. First they ran in front of the car going south (he just came through the intersection, it was green). Next, they almost got hit by a car going into the turning lane, and if that was not enough they ran in front of me. ... I had the green, but I slammed on my brakes when I saw them almost get hit by those two other cars. And then I almost hit them—as in about 15 inches away from them—and they just laughed and laughed as if this was the funniest thing in the world. Eight cars stopped in the street, [tires] squealing—and they laughed.

Yeah, that was really funny.
