Dry, Mild Temps Before Possible Rain, Fog: IL Weekend Weather
The weather will be sunny and dry with temps in the 40s, before a chance of rain and fog Sunday night.
ILLINOIS — Another few days of mild temperatures and dry weather is in store this weekend for the Chicago area. The National Weather Service said temps will be in the 40s and it will be dry before drizzle moves into the area Sunday night.
The high for Saturday is 41 degrees, and it will be sunny and dry all day. Sunday will be even warmer with a high of 49 degrees, although it'll be cloudy, the weather service said. Rain or drizzle will move into the area late Sunday night, as well as some patchy fog.

As we get further into December, and closer to the holidays, there's one question on people's minds: will we have a white Christmas this year? The answer, according to the weather service, is: maybe.

The probability of greater than 1 inch of snow on the ground for most of the Chicago area is near 50 percent, based on climate data from 1981-2010. The weather service said Rockford historically has the greatest chance of a white Christmas, with 55 percent, while Pontiac has the lowest chance, with 25 percent.
In the Chicago area, Aurora has a 43 percent chance of a white Christmas, McHenry has a 49 percent chance, Romeoville has a 4o percent chance, while Chicago itself also has a 40 percent chance.

- FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 23. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph after midnight.
- SATURDAY: Sunny, with a high near 41. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
- SATURDAY NIGHT: Increasing clouds, with a low around 33. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
- SUNDAY: Cloudy, with a high near 46. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
- SUNDAY NIGHT: A chance of rain before midnight, then rain or drizzle likely after midnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 41. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
