Snow, Rain Return After Dry Start To Week: Illinois Weather

The chance for snow and rain will return mid-week, after several days of dry and sunny weather. First, it will be dry and sunny on Monday and Tuesday, with temps near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain will return on Wednesday, where there is a 30 percent chance of rain. Mild temperatures will stick around though, and Wednesday has a high of 47 degrees and Thursday has a high of 46, the NWS said. Rain is also possible Wednesday night and Thursday, before possibly turning to snow on Thursday night.

There could also be a mix of rain and snow on Friday as well, the NWS said. It looks like temps will cool down on Friday which will have a high of 36 degrees.

• MONDAY: Sunny, with a high near 35. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
• MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 24. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
• TUESDAY: Sunny, with a high near 41. South wind around 5 mph.
• TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
• WEDNESDAY: A 20 percent chance of rain after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45.
• WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A chance of rain. Cloudy, with a low around 38.
• THURSDAY: Rain likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 43.
• THURSDAY NIGHT: Rain likely before 1 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., then a chance of snow after 5 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 32.
• FRIDAY: A slight chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36.
• FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.
