Dry Start To The Week, Before Storms, Rain Return In IL

ILLINOIS — After a weekend of almost 2 inches of rain for some communities, the beginning of the work week should be dry. According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be sunny with a high of 74 degrees. Tuesday during the day will also be sunny and slightly warmer with a high of 79 degrees.

The NWS said thunderstorm chances will increase by mid-week, with the highest chances for storms expected Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Wednesday has a chance of storms, especially in the morning, and will be 78 degrees. There will also be a chance of rain on Wednesday night.

The NWS said Thursday should be sunny with a high of 74 degrees, but the chance of storms returns overnight Thursday into Friday. Friday has a chance of storms, especially in the afternoon, and a high of 83 degrees is expected.
