Everest Academy Students Shine at IJAS State Science Fair

Students from Everest Academy demonstrated outstanding achievement at the recent IJAS State Science Fair held at Southern Illinois University, earning top honors and showcasing a commitment to academic excellence.

Six Everest Academy students advanced to the state competition after a highly competitive regional round that included more than 300 participants. Of those, only 150 students were selected to move on—making Everest’s representation a notable accomplishment in itself.

At the state level, Everest students continued to excel. Nik M, Max S, and Rafael A earned Gold medals, while Grace A and Francesca A were awarded Silver medals for their projects. Their success reflects not only strong scientific understanding, but also exceptional presentation, research, and execution.

The students’ performance exemplified the school’s commitment to excellence, captured in its motto, Semper Altius—“Always Higher.” Their work stood out among peers from across the state, highlighting both individual dedication and the strength of Everest Academy’s academic program.

Faculty and school leadership expressed pride in the students’ achievements, noting that their success is a testament to hard work, perseverance, and a passion for learning.

As these young scientists return to the classroom, they bring with them not only medals, but the experience of competing at a high level—an achievement that will continue to inspire both their peers and the broader Everest Academy community.
