Extreme Cold In Lemont: What's Closed
Due to the extreme cold in the forecast, several services and schools will be closed on Wednesday.

LEMONT, IL — Schools, services and other organizations will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30 due to the historic and dangerous cold moving into the area. The Lemont Public Library will close early at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 and will be closed all day on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The CORE and the Centennial Community Center will also be closed on Wednesday.
As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, schools who have announced closures are:
- District 113A - Wednesday and Thursday
- District 210 (Lemont High School) - Closed Wednesday AND Thursday
- St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick School
- SS. Cyril And Methodius School
- Montessori Elementary/Pre-school of Lemont
Waste Management will not be in service on Wednesday, Jan. 30 or Thursday, Jan. 31 in Lemont. The village said the refuse service will not service residential routes, and Wednesday and Thursday trash will be serviced on Friday, Feb. 1.

There are several warming centers located in Lemont, one at the Lemont Township building offices, 1115 Warner Ave., and one at village hall, 418 Main St. The township is open from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the village hall is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you need assistance after hours, you can call the non-emergency number at 630-257-2226.
