Four LHS Students Win Titles at FBLA Conference
LHS students combined to win four events, marking the fifth time in eight years that the school has brought home multiple titles.

LEMONT, IL - Lemont High School students placed among the top ten in 15 of 18 categories in which they were entered at the 2017 Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference, which was held in Springfield, on March 24-25.
According to a release from the school, LHS students combined to win four events, marking the fifth time in eight years that the school has brought home multiple titles.
Eight Lemont students have earned the chance to compete at the national level at the 2017 FBLA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, this summer.

Lemont’s state champions included juniors Reece Graham (Insurance & Risk Management), Martynas Juskelis (Networking Concepts) and Alex Paulius (Securities & Investments), and sophomore Anna Mietus (Introduction to Business Presentation).
LHS said Juskelis and Paulius joined a select group of Lemont students who have won multiple FBLA state crowns; last year Juskelis and Paulius won the Cyber Security and Personal Finance categories, respectively. The other Lemont students to win multiple FBLA state titles are Spenser Bailey ‘16, Danny Banas ‘11 and Krystian Paszek ‘11.

Juniors Saher Rashid and Julie Stanwyck teamed for a runner-up finish in Social Media, sophomore Kirsten Kash finished second in Sales Presentation, and sophomore Elizabeth Piercy was third in Public Speaking II. Kash and Piercy each won state titles as freshmen in 2016.
Lemont’s other top-ten finishers included Juskelis and Paulius (fifth - Local Chapter Annual Report); seniors Faraz Longi, John Pender and Jimmy Sliwa (Emerging Business Issues); junior Kendrick Tran (sixth - Word Processing); seniors Chris Paulius and Joe Theodore (sixth - Management Decision Making); juniors Easton Tally and Matt Zima (seventh - Sports & Entertainment Marketing); seniors John Basiorka and Kevin Tuscher (ninth - Business Plan); sophomores Matt Krueger and Gavin Pawell (10th - Business Financial Plan); and junior Sean Haughey (10th - Economics).
