Freezing Rain Could Impact New Year's Eve Commute In Illinois
Ice accumulation is possible and a winter weather advisory will be in effect.

Light ice accumulation is possible for the last day of 2018. A mix of rain and freezing rain is expected to develop south of I-80 after midnight on Monday, and will spread north across the area early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Slippery travel conditions may develop Monday morning before temperatures are above freezing.
Due to the freezing rain, a winter weather advisory has been issued from 4 to 9 a.m. Monday, according to the NWS. The advisory has been issued for northwest Cook County which could receive up to .10" of ice.

After Monday's freezing rain, the rest of the work week looks dry, although there is a chance of snow on Tuesday morning. The NWS said Tuesday has a high of 35 degrees. Temps will remain much the same for the rest of the week with a high of 31 on Wednesday, 34 on Thursday and 39 on Friday.
