Gas Improvement Project Continues On Main Street

LEMONT, IL — The Nicor gas system improvement project on Main Street in Lemont will continue for several more weeks. The village said select road lanes will be temporarily closed as the project progresses. Work is taking place Monday through Friday, and on some Saturdays.

According to Nicor, the system improvement project involves installing a 2.2-mile segment of natural gas main. Construction should be finished by fall, followed by landscaping and paving restoration.

The installation of the gas main will be installed along and under Main Street, from Illinois Street to Parker Road. If you travel on Main Street, you are encouraged to use alternate routes during this project, if possible.
