The Gift of Water

AnneMarie Bacon and Gracie Meloni, are 8th graders at Old Quarry Middle School in Lemont, IL. This was their second year hosting a variety of fundraisers for an amazing organization called The Water Project. The Water Project gives people in Sub Saharan Africa a clean water source that was previously unavailable. This year alone the two students raised over $3,100.00 to help fund a working well in a village that desperately needs a clean and healthy water source. These young ladies exemplify the the core values of Community and Kindness that we try to instill in every student at Old Quarry Middle School. Anne Marie and Gracie have made a considerable impact on the world outside of Lemont, and their dedication to improving the lives of others is admirable and inspirational. They coordinated at least three separate events to raise funds: a penny war between classrooms, escape rooms and an online fundraising page.
